Care Catering in the North of England

Welcome to the North Region!

Our main role is to organise our North Region Seminars where members and non-members are equally welcome. We usually have three seminars each year, Spring, Summer and Winter and we try to move them around our region making it easy for everyone to attend. Details of up-coming seminars are on The NACC website.

We create events that are informative and entertaining, and we always provide opportunities for networking and personal development. Our focus for all delegates is to ensure they feel welcomed, supported, involved, and inspired.

We are very proud of our reputation for being a friendly and inclusive organisation, so please do come along to our events.

Meet your North Regional Committee:

David Barker, MyChef Meals on Wheels
Chair

David joined the NACC (ABSSC) around 22 years ago. He's been a North Region committee member for over 10 years and as Chair since 2016. David brings experience of the association, its work and achievements, and its ups and downs over the years. He's been a provider of Meals-on-Wheels services for over 30 years and has a wide experience in this sector and across wider care catering.

Charlotte Warrington, Simply Food Solutions
Deputy Chair

Having worked as a catering provider for the NHS and also as a supplier of specialist dietary meals to the care sector for over ten years, Charlotte has a passion for IDDSI awareness and in particular the dining experience. She became a member of the NACC in 2020, being elected Deputy Chair for the Northern Region. She believes that good nutrition and hydration should be the of a high priority and an enthusiasm to make each mealtime and enjoyable experience.

Vicki Sterling, N H Case Ltd
Secretary

Having worked as a supplier to the care Industry for over 20 years. Vicki became a member of the NACC in 2010. After attending many Northern seminars and the annual Training & Development Forum, she was elected as Secretary for the North Region for the first time in 2019. Vicki understands many of the challenges in the care sector and has a passion for continual positive change and learning.

Advance Notice | British Food Fortnight

Love British Food, the campaigning organisation that works at grassroots and industry level to encourage sustainable supply chains, will be organising the 23^rd British Food Fortnight from 20^th September until 6^th October. Every year 1,000s of shops, restaurants, pubs, caterers, hospitals, schools, supermarkets, independent shops and whole communities come together during the national food celebration to showcase the diverse and delicious food we produce in this country. The event reaches millions every autumn and is an excellent opportunity for local communities to get together and celebrate British food.
