County Enterprise Foods – Business as usual with a difference
For everyone running services during this pandemic there is a realisation that services must be maintained and have never been so vital to so many, but at the same time everything is different.
Our customers still deserve the service of a good quality meal of their choice and a safe and well check just as before. The difference has been with a 20% increase in delivery numbers, staff shielding and self isolating and risk assessments conducted on every customer to assess, shielding, self isolation, and whether social distancing can be maintained has made it ….. interesting. In amongst all this staff are carrying out these tasks with a smile and a mask. They are delivering extra deliveries to assist with the government packs and have even sung on the doorstep to one customer who reached 100 years old and another who having had the service for 30 years has reached 104 years old.
Our production unit is still producing meals following the same processes to the same standard. The difference has been, intermittent and non-deliveries on certain food products. An increased demand for meals required and a reduction in staff due to being a supported workplace and many of the staff have underlying health issues.
With social distancing and an almost all day continuous staggered lunch break!! processes are being followed. Additional PPE and regular briefings help morale and keep staff safe. Menus have been adjusted where necessary and production is high as is morale.
Difficult times Yes, but impossible No.
