This guidance embeds nutritional wellbeing into good practice, and enables care providers to provide excellent nutritional care and to meet the Care Quality Commission's Fundamental Standards as laid out in the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulation 2014.
The Guidance concentrates on the KLOE E3: 'How are people supported to drink and eat enough and maintain a balanced diet? It lists each of the outcomes that are relevant to each regulated service, providing recommended evidence in the form of records, observations and statements that an inspector would be looking for. It details other KLOEs that are closely linked, so that they must be considered in conjunction with KLOE E3.
This guidance provides a valuable and practical resource for care services that are not covered by England's regulatory framework. It is for everyone who wants to ensure that meal times are an important part of their care services.
