FREE WEBINAR - CLICK HERE TO BOOK

Speaker:

Dr Angeliki Papadaki, Associate Professor in Public Health Nutrition, School for Policy Studies, University of Bristol, [email protected]

Date/ time:
Thursday 7th November 2024, 15.00-16.00

This webinar will introduce a newly developed map, the first-ever in the UK, that helps users locate Meals on Wheels services nationwide. The map is free to use and designed to assist individuals seeking meal services for themselves or others, as well as professionals referring people to these essential services.

The map is hosted on the Meals on Wheels UK website, which was co-developed with people with lived experience of Meals on Wheels, health and care professionals and Meals on Wheels providers. This is a unique resource, because for the first time, website visitors can:
  • Search a comprehensive database for details of Meals on Wheels providers who deliver to their address
  • Find out more about the benefits of Meals on Wheels
  • Discover a wealth of information and resources relating to Meals on Wheels

The webinar will discuss the challenges people face in finding Meals on Wheels providers and how this map addresses those issues. A comprehensive demonstration will follow, showing the website’s key features and explanation of how to use the map, including how to search for, and view service details. The webinar will then explore the potential community-wide benefits of the Meals on Wheels UK map. We will discuss future plans for expanding and updating the map, and attendees will be encouraged to contribute thoughts for potential partnerships to pursue to ensure the map’s sustainability. The webinar will conclude with a Q&A to address any remaining questions.
