YPO's support during COVID-19
Published: 19th April 2020
YPO are providing valuable support during the COVID-19 crisis, here are some of the intiatives they are involved with.
.
- Since the start of COVID-19 we’ve done everything we possibly can to help our public sector customers. Our main focus has been providing food, PPE, hygiene and cleaning products to schools, local authorities and care homes.
- We’ve delivered and donated food to various local and regional food banks including The Real Junk Food Project Wakefield, Wakefield’s health and wellbeing centre, Yorkshire fareshare and Halifax opportunities trust.
- For our care home and social customers, we’ve delivered over the bank holiday and our area sales managers have called to the sites to let them know of the changes and to offer support wherever possible.
- We’ve also provided food provisions to support schools during this difficult time for those key worker children and vulnerable children.
- We’re working with local authorities to deliver weekly and monthly food hampers to children and vulnerable families. This also includes high risk people within care homes.
- Urgent and unexpected requirements for freshly made sandwiches have been procured via YPO’s Food Deal framework. This has helped some of our customers to continue with their school meal provision during these unprecedented times.
